It all started on a partially sunny day. September 7, 2011 to be exact.
On the phone (blue-tooth) driving from one local to another, three phone calls from friends all seeking, “I love you, you’re amazing, I’m listening” conversations.
Being in a beastly mood myself, it was nice to be distracted by other’s & their need for love. By the end of the third phone call, I was laughing at my situation. Here I was feeling quite disenchanted with a heap of truly unimportant very important emotional situations & my friends were calling ME for some love.
A poem was generated & Happy Magic Love Dust was born. The next morning, I decided to send a HMLD text via cellphone to a few select people & their cell phones. Over a period of 5 months, the list grew to an average of 34 people receiving a new HMLD text Monday through Friday.
- Every note is different.
- Not plagiarized.
- From my heart, mind, the divine.
- Ever person on the text list is chosen every morning.
- There is no app I’m using for the phone text messages.
- Every person on the phone text list has touched my life in a profound way.
- Some text go to emails, most to cell phones.
(No more phone text due to smartphone mass text generating everyone else’s email/phone number to everyone else’s phone. To protect the privacy of everyone, the text messages have stopped. It caused several complaints as the morning text seemed to matter more than I thought. I recently started HMLD again on-line due to several private requests that the HMLD be available somehow).
The feed back from these daily reminders that life is amazing, profound & often funny have brought me to tears of gratitude, brought laughter, felt like a hug given & received. This list is a living changing list. Some people love it. Some people could care less. Some people scoff (think big-bad-brother-ex-Navy-SEAL-way-too-serious-guy) & roll their eyes. Some people read it daily, others when they can. Some request to be removed. My daughter, last evening, finally wanted to be on the list.
It’s time to share these little quotes with the world at large. Will you help me? Share the magic. Generate laughter. Generate thought. Generate appreciation for your fellow human being. Click “share”. Help me help you & post your own magic on the wall.
Follow the daily text/blog on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ & of course, here on WP.
Thank you for helping me sprinkle a lot of love.
Here’s the poem
(written with giggles & self awareness at the fragility/silliness of being human):
HAPPY MAGIC LOVE DUST
The universe sent you magical love dust.
Ever expanding, open hearted.
With a rainbow thread throughout
laughter & deep thought
You are confused by
You might at some point…despise
In the end though
You are affected
come to adore
Even expect the outrageous
The universal magic love dust
…a little more of the back story…
My life has been a series of learning experiences to overcome and triumph over the challenges of behavior patterns I do not want, nor asked for. I was sexually abused from 4 or 5 years old until I was 12. I was emotionally abused until I left home. I chose relationships that continued the emotional abuse. What have I learned? That I am not a victim. I am not a survivor. I have challenges. What happened does not define me. My choices about how to respond does. I am a soft bunny in a big dragon suit and I really do believe in the audacious, the silly, the profound. I cry at the beauty of a dance gone well – for the effort and training, the minds behind the creativity. I cry at the beauty of architecture centuries old. I cry because my heart cannot hold the gratitude, nor enormous amount of joy, and must release the emotions too big to hold in check.
YOU are my HMLD. YOU inspire me! YOU are appreciated for your successes, your failures, your attempts to ‘make life better’, even for your failures to do so. Your choices are your own. With sorrow I acknowledge you are where you are without judgement, if you do not seem to be leading a life society deems acceptable. With joy I celebrate your journey toward healing, enlightenment, creativity, success. I celebrate strangers, the extras in a movie, the street sweeper and the fast food worker, the exec, the artist, the mother, father, teacher, lover.
We all have a place, a path, a part. Thank you for you and yours. YOU are my HMLD *~*
