Quality of the Stretch

Published April 9, 2013 by Phoenix

Life is like a yoga stretch. It isn’t how far you go, it’s the quality of the stretch. Stretch today ;) HMLD *~*

This started in my mind as a reminder that no matter how far you go in life, if you do not leave a legacy, did you do anything worth while?

When I meet potential mates, I ask them, “What kind of legacy do you want to leave?” Often the answer is, “That people think I’m a nice guy.” SERIOUSLY?!?!?!? THAT is what you want to leave as your legacy?

  • Not that you helped people?
  • Not that you worked hand over fist to build something for the greater good while building happiness for yourself?
  • Not that you’ve given your life over to volunteering throughout the year?
  • That you helped create some great children who are doing well in the world

Leave a Legacy?

When I leave the planet, this existence or just flat out die (depending on your belief system), I want there to be a legacy of change. What and how I do that is too long to share here and will take time to do. I’m not afraid of the journey, the stretch.

When you stretch outside your comfort zone and DO something worth remembering, it builds your own energies and happiness. It brings peace to your life. Whether it brings money or not isn’t the point. Are you living your passions in such a way that you are a beacon?

You can change your stretch. Change your position. Go from building up your children to building a corporation or building your art form one piece at a time. It’s up to you.

What are you stretching to become? What are you hoping to leave as your legacy? I’d love to know so please share below.

Excited with Life

Published April 8, 2013 by Phoenix

Thrilled and excited with life! Because I choose to be. Seek that which will make you smile and keep it close for when you cannot. HMLD *~*

(Without going into the definitions of depression and all the things you can do to help pull yourself out of it, besides drugs, if drugs are necessary…)

Surround yourself with colors that brighten your life. Hot pinks. Bright oranges. Royal purples. Yellows. Lime greens. White. Soft colors of the rainbow work well too. You may love grey, however the brain prefers lighter, brighter colors to enhance moods.

Keep pictures, or items near at hand that bring a smile. A warm blanket or snugly bathrobe for when you need to curl up. Make sure you’ve music available that peps you up or make your own. Gets your hips swinging, your hands to dancing and a laugh to your throat.

Make Some Music

Walk outside and look to the tops of the trees. Looking up brings the spirit up. Write love words and happy words and funny words.

There’s ample ways to lift your smile, your spirit, your outlook on life. Choose a dozen and do a little dance.

YOU are the one deciding whether you’re smiling or frowning, laughing or drowning in tears.

What’s your favorite thing to do to cheer yourself up? Will you share it here and share the post? I’d love to know and so would others. Who knows whom you’ll inspire to smile. :)

Surrender or Go On Vacation

Published April 5, 2013 by Phoenix

Today it’s 46 degrees. Sunday and next week in the 70′s. When you have no control over your environment, surrender or go on vacation. hehehe HMLD *~*

There are times when we simply do not have control. We whine, fuss and worry and create unease and distress in our lives.

Why not try the other options? Surrender or go on vacation to a different clime? Not just giving up, but letting go of what you cannot control. You can control leaving the internal or external environment. Change your thoughts or change your zip code.

Makes for a much better life. One filled with joy and appreciation rather than drama and illness.

Choose vacation?

Thank you for supporting our return this week. Do you surrender, complain or go on vacation?

This is day five and we wish you a wonderful weekend.

Lift the Spirit

Published April 4, 2013 by Phoenix

Viewing powerful architecture or natural vistas lifts the spirits. Sometimes, looking out does help you look within. HMLD *~* HMLD for 04/04/13

Have you ever noticed how when viewing some of the amazing ingenuity of human creation, your jaw just gets slack and your eyes glaze over and your whole body becomes still? That is your spirit saying, “I recognize the greatness within myself as I see it reflected here before me”. At least I think so.

We are all powerful and beautiful and so often hide it in our human experiences. Being human can be such a dirty job, but hey, someone has to do it. Instead of fussing, complaining and filling your life up with the ‘ick’ – look for some ‘awe’ inspiring architectures in your neighborhood, on the web or in a book. Even if you’re in small town no-where, simple homes are pretty amazing. So are dollhouses, bridges and have you really looked at a regular road sign lately? Pretty amazing technology goes into the reflective layers and the precise formula for making sure the brain sees the symbol and colors as an important part of your landscape.

Human and Nature’s Awe Inspiring Awesomeness

If it isn’t architecture you want to see, look outside for something inspiring. Whether mountains, beaches, sunsets or canyons. Surely there’s something amazing to life your spirit to a quiet place of ‘awe’.

When we are inspired by the greatness of nature or human ingenuity, we want to be better and do better – whatever it is we’re about. Look often. Share. Capture those quieting moments like jewels. You surely aren’t jaded enough to think you’ve seen it all.

Explore someone’s brain, like Stephen Hawkins. That man is incredible! We all are awe inspiring. Uniquely ‘me’. You aren’t someone else and THAT is AMAZING! (however, yes, we’re all connected a single being etc etc etc – but I’m speaking to the human experience of separateness here :P ).

Look out to look within and know, you are just as amazing, awe inspiring and beautiful.

Happiness is a heart full of love for…

Published April 4, 2013 by Phoenix

Happiness is a heart full of love for _________. Fill in the blank any given moment because love is happiness and vise versa. (“myself” is a great starter”) HMLD *~* HMLD for 04/03/2013

Very simply put, when we love ourselves, treat ourselves as we would anyone else we love, it creates a circle of happiness that only grows in it’s intensity.

If the way we love is destructive though, pay attention, loving yourself the way you love others may have unfriendly consequences.

Late 2011, I gave up on depression. Decided I’d had enough. NO WAY was I ever going back to soak in the downers of the thoughts and habits that provoke a vicious cycle. Getting out of my bed on a weekend morning, I decided to fall in love with myself just as though I was loving another.

Love Within

Love Within to Create Happiness

It’s worked wonders. Helps me when sadness comes visiting, or frustrating situations outside my control. Just wrap myself up in a warm glow of orange and pink light and smile that ‘love smile’, as though I’m viewing someone I’m deeply in-love with and focus that energy/thought onto myself. It changes my thinking and body’s response. My shoulders relax. I sleep better. Life has a lot less drama.

Fill your heart with love, happiness is sure to follow. Will you share this post with your friends? Sometimes it’s the little things that bring light into someone’s life.

When You’re Done

Published March 14, 2012 by Phoenix

When you choose to stay in an unhappy place, you’re getting something from the pain of being there.

When you no loner get something from it, you move on.

Happy Magic Love Dust *~*~*~*~*~*~*

Destination

Are you taking the easy way?

We all will stay in unhealthy and unhappy situations because it ‘feeds’ us somehow. Our stories are built upon our excuses, decisions and all the reasons we stay in any given unhappy situation. Same goes for happy situations.

When we grow to the point that we no longer ‘get’ anything from the bad stuff, it’s like waking up from a dream, a fog, like seeing the world crisp through new glasses for the first time. We’re like the caterpillar staying caterpillars until we finally build our cocoon, which isn’t natural, nor what nature does.

The cocoon is the changing time. The time of awakening. When we begin to admit to ourselves that our unhappy situation just doesn’t fit any more, we start realizing there MIGHT be other options. We start asking questions of ourselves and our environment. When we feel safe or brave or loved enough, we will then open our cocoon and step out new and more brilliant than ever.

Some people see the phoenix as a bird that is reborn again and again. The true story of the phoenix isn’t about rebirth, it’s about celebrating life. The bird must die and be reborn for no ‘thing’ is eternal except love. This cycle by mythological standards usually happens every 500 years for the bird. We as humans don’t tend to last that long ;) so our cycles can be much shorter. We have the wonderful opportunity to grow, grow, GROW into a more stunning butterfly/phoenix….again and again and again.

When our situations are happy, we can make them happier. Same process occurs.

Have faith in your ability to change, become more aware and to grow. Your wings will take you far.

Tell me, please…have you been in an unhealthy (or happy) situation and what was it like when you woke up and began to change it? Your end results? Thank you for sharing your story here and sharing this post with others so they can share their stories too. :)

When a butterfly opens it’s wings and we stand in awe.
