Excited with Life

Published April 8, 2013 by Phoenix

Thrilled and excited with life! Because I choose to be. Seek that which will make you smile and keep it close for when you cannot. HMLD *~*

(Without going into the definitions of depression and all the things you can do to help pull yourself out of it, besides drugs, if drugs are necessary…)

Surround yourself with colors that brighten your life. Hot pinks. Bright oranges. Royal purples. Yellows. Lime greens. White. Soft colors of the rainbow work well too. You may love grey, however the brain prefers lighter, brighter colors to enhance moods.

Keep pictures, or items near at hand that bring a smile. A warm blanket or snugly bathrobe for when you need to curl up. Make sure you’ve music available that peps you up or make your own. Gets your hips swinging, your hands to dancing and a laugh to your throat.

Make Some Music

Walk outside and look to the tops of the trees. Looking up brings the spirit up. Write love words and happy words and funny words.

There’s ample ways to lift your smile, your spirit, your outlook on life. Choose a dozen and do a little dance.

YOU are the one deciding whether you’re smiling or frowning, laughing or drowning in tears.

What’s your favorite thing to do to cheer yourself up? Will you share it here and share the post? I’d love to know and so would others. Who knows whom you’ll inspire to smile. :)

HOO-RAH is not Hoo-ha

HOO-RAH is not Hoo-ha, so no

HOO-HA is not

“what they say in the Army.”

Conversation with 12 year old daughter.

HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA

She said what?

My daughter was trying to say, “horror” and with our Southern tongue it came out rather like, “hawr-er” which cracked me up and as she tried to pronounce it several more times ended up somehow saying, “Hoo-ha”.

Um…

Lots of laughing in the carpool line…

um…

“Honey, don’t say that at school because hoo-ha is your ……….”

“Oh. I thought that’s what the Army said.”

Laughed so hard my sides hurt!

“No, Honey. That is Hoorah, not hoo-ha!”

Bwahahahaaaaaaa

Look in the Mirror

When you look in the mirror, you are seeing someone loved and appreciated.

Miror

Surprised?

We have the capacity to love ourselves, if we’d only grant us permission. From birth we’re often trained to look outward for love, approval, acceptance. For some reason, we grow into adults looking ourselves in the mirror and disliking what we see. The mirror may be physical or mental. Our worst critic being ourselves.

Couple of months ago, I got sick of this game of self sabatoge and decided to love myself. Love myself as though I was courting…courting me. Taking better care of myself, not just by thinking good things, but by cherishing my memories, healing, forgiving and by getting physical. Started walking on a regular basis, then Bikram Yoga, and now running. I eat better. I care about getting enough sleep and in general, have become a better mother, friend and more relaxed as a partner/lover. I stopped criticizing myself too.

The scariest person to love, is often ourselves, because we know all our deepest darkest secrets. Until you can decide that you can love yourself, I’m loving you to give you courage and strength. :)

Butterfly Fart

Do butterflies fart?

Sometimes, life is as random as thought.

Finding a way to giggle and celebrate the randomness keeps us young.

Butterflies and Tulips

Find a way to giggle...

Life isn’t random although our thoughts or events may seem to be.

When we’re surprised by something seemingly random, thought or event – we either respond or react.

  • Reacting is based on past experiences.
  • Responding is about being in the moment.

When you’re in the moment, you come alive.

Are you listening for the butterfly to fart? The unexpected? Ready to giggle? Or are you reacting to life?

Celebrate the randomness that happens in your life ;)

Spectacular Happiness

There is nothing quite as spectacular as happiness shining from within you.

Find something today that remeinds you of your happy place.

Your Happy Place?

Sometimes, we just need a little sunshine to remind us how wonderful we are. Our happy place is defined by what makes us safe, snuggled and loved. We can also define it as a beautiful sunny day, a daisy that makes us smile or a child’s giggle.

Where is your happy place? Have you been there lately?

Apples & Bananas

Apples & bananas & kiwis too…

Another way to be fruity…

Me?

I’m just fruity.

You?

Stacked Fruit

Be a slice of fruity :)

Just one of those days when fresh fruits and vegetables and lifestyle choices were on my mind as I woke from a deep slumber.

There’s been plenty of studies about how much healthier fruits and vegetables are than potato chips and fried foods. Another benefit is your skin tone. There’s been a study done, came out just a month or so ago, that showed drastic skin color changes just by adding more fruit your daily eating habits. Here’s a link to one of the studies: http://healthland.time.com/2012/03/12/beauty-in-a-bowl-eating-fruits-and-veggies-may-improve-skin-tone/

On the fun side of life, being fruity means you can get away with peculiar behaviors when others cannot.

  • Be a joy to those in your life.
  • Share you love openly.
  • Have an open heart.
  • Be willing to empathize with another’s perspective.
  • Be compassionate.
  • Build your smile a little everyday.
  • Be a bit fruity.

We all have our reasons for acting any which way we do. Most of the time, we act out of rage, anger or pain from past experiences. When we understand this about ourselves and others, it frees us to be less judgmental. Less full of pain and more full of the spark(le) of life.

You are my constant reason for being fruity. Without an audience to care for, or to care about me, life just becomes dull.

Are you fruity? How? Share with us here and then share this post with a friend. Thank you for helping to spread the Happy Magic Love Dust *~*~*.
